Norton Cancer Institute’s Adolescent and Young Adult Program provides focused medical care, psychosocial support and educational resources to people ages 15 to 39 diagnosed with cancer.
They offer a wide variety of programs designed to support patients, families and caregivers during and after cancer treatment. Patients and families adjust to changes in their lives after a cancer diagnosis at varying rates and in different ways.
“The gap in care that Adolescent and Young Adult patients have faced is rapidly shrinking. Our
realization that these patients face different challenges than children and older adults and our growing
recognition of the biological differences has catapulted us forward in our ability to treat cancer in the
AYA population. As our AYA program at Norton Cancer Institute and the Norton Children’s Cancer
Institute has grown, it is thrilling to join so many enthusiastic people across the globe focusing attention
on this group. It is truly amazing to see what the combination of advocacy and dedicated clinicians can
do to literally change the course of care for so many people.”
