Sir Roger Daltrey Visits Patients and Staff at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Honor of Teen Cancer America Partnership Anniversary

BOSTON (August 26, 2025) – In his first visit to the U.S. since being knighted by His Majesty King Charles III in June, legendary rock icon Roger Daltrey, lead singer of The Who and co-founder of Teen Cancer America (TCA), spent time with young cancer patients and staff at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute on Tuesday to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its partnership with TCA.

Stegmaier, MD – Chair, Department of Pediatric Oncology at Dana-Farber. “His passion for the work of
Teen Cancer America is inspiring, and we’re truly grateful for his advocacy and leadership.”

Daltrey and bandmate Pete Townshend co-founded Teen Cancer America in 2012 to help bridge the gap
in the U.S. healthcare system between pediatric and adult oncology. TCA serves Adolescent and Young
Adult (AYA) cancer patients by creating specialized programs and spaces that support their unique
emotional, social, and medical needs. TCA initiatives help fund age-appropriate treatment plans,
psychosocial support, peer interaction and connection, creative programs and other services.

Dana-Farber has been a flagship partner with TCA since 2015, pioneering innovative care and support
models for AYA cancer patients. Through the new Dana-Farber Center for Young Adults, which is a
collaboration between pediatric, medical and supportive oncology, patients have access to art and
music therapy, tailored group support, and peer to peer connections in the HomeGoods Young Adult
Lounge. These activities improve outcomes and foster community.

Daltrey, whose career with The Who began in England in the 1960s, has been a leading patron, advocate
and fundraiser for teen and young adult cancer patients since 1990 when he joined forces with UK-
based Teenage Cancer Trust, which has successfully transformed the standard of AYA cancer care
throughout Britain.

“Teenagers and young adults who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis and doing so at one of the most
vulnerable times of their lives, making the experience all the more difficult,” said Daltrey. “They deserve
the best possible care and support that we can give them.”

Daltrey visited Dana-Farber as The Who prepared to play Fenway Park on Tuesday night, part of the
acclaimed group’s 2025 North American Farewell Tour.
