TCA Announces Opening of Teen Center At Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital

Yale New Haven Hospital has officially announced the opening of the Lauren Telesz Smilow Teen Center in partnership with Teen Cancer America.  Lauren is a student at Yale and young adult cancer survivor herself. Lauren’s shared her first hand experience throughout the design process to ensure the space was truly reflective of the needs of this unique population. This new space is a part of a larger teen and young adult cancer program happening at Yale.

“The opening of The Lauren Telesz/Smilow Teen Center was the culmination of years of fruitful collaboration and mentorship from Teen Cancer America, and would have not been possible without them.” Said Asher Marks M.D., Director of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology. “Our patients are lucky to have them [TCA] as champions of their cause. And we are grateful to call them colleagues and friends.”

Teen Cancer America is honored to be a part of this project. Yale has a great team of physicians and allied health professionals who really believe in this project. We know that there will be great things ahead for this program and it’s young people.
