Pursuing acting professionally since she was five years old, southern California actress Julia Garcia landed her first recurring role in Season 5 of the ABC’s comedy “Fresh Off the Boat.”
In addition to other roles, Julia is best known for playing Emmy Mendoza on the Disney Channel’s “Sydney to the Max” starring Caroline Rhea, Ian Reed Kesler, and Ruth Rhigi. Over the course of three seasons, the audience learns that Emmy has ADHD and a learning disability which makes her different from most kids her age. The Disney Channel hand-picked Julia Garcia to convey this touching, relatable, and beloved character.
Julia recently Associate Produced three short films, two of which became Oscar qualified and the other has won countless awards. She also recently Executive Produced her first film called “Alone,” Starring Jesse Garcia (Flamin’ Hot, directorial debut of Eva Longoria) and Izabella Alvarez (Casagrande & Euphoria.)
In addition to Julia being in front of the camera and making her own films, she enjoys martial arts, cooking, and dancing. She is also enthusiastic about giving back to the community to bring awareness and assistance to those in need. Julia advocates to end childhood cancer by supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and Teen Cancer America.
