McKenzy is a singer, a diva type singer (without all the bad attitude), through and through. She first became inspired to sing when she discovered musical theater in 3rd grade. McKenzy studied music at a performing arts high school and was a voice major. She has always been one of those effortless singers with great tone and feeling. Her tumors took her hearing as she fought cancer. After a few starts and stops with Play it Back, her new hearing implants, McKenzy has written and recorded several songs despite relearning how to hear and, really, how to sing. What used to be easy took a lot of attention to detail and fortitude, but McKenzy keeps going.
