Play It Back Experience

It’s not a support group–it’s a creativity crew!

The Play It Back Experience is a virtual hangout from Teen Cancer America’s Play It Back Music program. Each online session is available to adolescents and young adults (AYAs) across the country who have or had cancer, ages 15-39, within five years of cancer treatment. Every session provides an opportunity for young people to connect, create, and be part of a vibrant music-driven community! No musical experience is required.

Meet other young people who “GET IT” – not just having had cancer

but having a love of music and creativity.

“I love being an artist with this group!” – Audrey B.

Each session is designed to foster connection, creativity, and community through music-based activities:

  • Social & Interactive Experiences:
    • Group activities such as trivia nights, collaborative challenges, or shared listening sessions.
    • Fun, low-pressure ways to engage and bond with others who understand the AYA cancer experience.
  • Creative Expression & Music Exploration:
    • Breakout groups for songwriting challenges and creative storytelling through music.
    • Play It Back artists will join to share their experiences, perform, and inspire.
  • Led by Professional Music Producer, Kenli Mattus
    • A unique opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with an industry professional and special guests.

Our first session is on Thursday, July 17th, at 5 PM, PT. To ensure an engaging and interactive experience, space is limited and capped at 30 participants.
